1. Grasp end of chenille with hackle pliers and wrap forward. I use rubber tipped hackle pliers. You can use your fingers but the chenille will unravel. Make first wrap behind hackle tie in then second wrap in front.

2. Make sure wraps are side by side with no gaps and no wraps on top of another.

3. Wrap almost to eye of hook. Leave more space than you think you need. This area will get crowded when we wrap hackle and tie off and whip finish.

4. Tie off with about 4 wraps of thread and cut excess. You are now ready to Palmer Hackle.
