1. Hold a piece of 6" chenille against hook shank at rear of shank with excess length equal to distance from hook bend to lead wraps.

2. Make loose wrap and tighten toward you.

3. Wrap forward to butt of chenille and back to hook shank with heavy wraps.

4. Leave thread hanging a little forward of bend for hackle tie in.You are now ready to select and prep hackle.
